Saludos gallops to success in opener
Saludos galloped his rivals into submission when making all to claim the opening maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse.
6/4 favourite Taking Stock tried to throw down a challenge turning for home but could make no impression on Robbie Power's mount before the last.
The winner was none too tidy at the final flight but it made no difference as he went on for a cosy seven-length victory.
"We had a plan and it worked out well," said trainer Jessica Harrington.
"He's a big galloping horse and we decided to use his stride. I ran him over two-and-a-half miles last year and it was a mistake. I'm delighted with him.
"We'll take it from here. He's a very big horse. He could go for a novice but I have no plans. It was just about getting today out of the way."
