Salesin Makes All
With the two market-leaders, Heavenly Blues and Silver Jaro, taken out on account of the ground, the door was left open for something else to win the Whitford House Hotel (Q.R.) Race and Padraig Roche didn't need to be asked twice as he went out and made all on Salesin
He got the better of Ouhetu Des Mottes in the straight, to prevail by three lengths. There were big gaps back to the rest, with the 2/1 favourite, The Spoonplayer beaten from a fair way out, finishing fourth. The successful trainer, Niall Madden, said of his J P McManus-owned winner, "I got this fellow from Jonjo O'Neill, he has been disappointing and it's just nice to get a win out of him." (EM)
