Sailors Warn causes upset
Sailors Warn caused a 12/1 upset in the Grade 2 Bord Na Mona Fire Magic Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown today, when scoring for trainer Edward O’Grady and jockey Andrew McNamara.
Afterwards O’Grady stated “that made up for a series of disappointments and he didn’t jump well enough at Fairyhouse the last day.”
“I thought coming here today that if he was in the first four I’d be delighted with him although a few of the others may not have been at their best today. I was thinking of running him in the Fred Winter Hurdle at Cheltenham but he may now go for the Grade 1 race here on Hennessy day in February.”
Sailors Warn got a 25/1 quote from Ladbrokes for the Triumph Hurdle.
