Sunset Sadie stayed on best to land the spoils for father and son team Eamonn and Eoin O'Connell in the Clonmel Oil Race Day Handicap Hurdle this afternoon.
The Brian Boru mare went to post a 20/1 shot for the extended two-mile-three contest on her return to action today.
She looked under pressure in third jumping the second last but stayed on to challenge over the final flight.
The seven-year-old kept on best on the run-in to post a length-and-a-quarter verdict over Bridge Native
"We thought the ground might be a bit fast for her today but it worked out grand as it is cutting up a bit and they're getting in to it," said the winning trainer.
"In fairness to her she was off it all the way and it must be getting some bit soft if she won because she wants it soft.
"We have no firm plans but she might have one more run over hurdles before going over fences. She'll be a nice chaser going forward."
