Pat Shanahan's opportunism paid off as Lough Mist broke her maiden tag on her third outing in the Tattersalls Ireland (Fillies) Auction Race.

Drawn on the wide outside in stall one, Shanahan had the Tracey Collins-trained juvenile smartly away and he was able to track over to the rail as he led them along in the six-and-a-half-furlong contest.

Lough Mist (2-1 favourite) nipped smartly around the bends and never looked in danger as she cleared away to beat the staying-on Rosie The Riveter by three and a half lengths.

There was another all-the-way success in the www.countysligoraces.com Claiming Race as Incline led his rivals a merry dance before scoring comfortably.

Martin Harley pushed the veteran to the front from the off and there they stayed, the 5-6 chance bowling along nicely as his rivals began to struggle before easing to a two-length victory from Herbert Crescent

It was a fourth course-and-distance win for the Ray McGlinchey-trained nine-year-old.

Tom Hogan sent out a one-two in the Eamon Scanlon Handicap, but it was the longer-priced of the pair, the 8-1 shot Molton Rock who got the call over 6-1 Frutti Tutti

Molton Rock went on a long way out in the 12-furlong contest and was driven out by Ben Curtis to maintain the healthy lead he had established entering the final quarter-mile.

Frutti Tutti made up plenty of ground to get into an attacking position but could not get to grips with her stablemate, who won by six lengths.< The Bay Lad was not winning out of turn when he took the Martin Reilly Hyundai Maiden Hurdle as it was his first success in 18 attempts and he is a nine-year-old.

Sent off the 4-5 favourite after a good second at Kilbeggan last week, The Bay Lad led for most of the way under amateur James Fahey and was not unduly troubled to see off Lots Of Shots by 13 lengths.

It was a first victory in well over three years for trainer Paul Fahey.
