The first division of the Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle resulted in a facile success for Flidais (6/1), owned and trained by John Ryan.
The daughter of the late Mount Nelson, runner-up at this venue on her penultimate start, tracked the leaders and a decent gallop led to her getting a lovely tow into the race.
A closing third when making a mistake at the second-last, Liam Quinlan’s mount was soon in front and went clear before the last. Extending her advantage on the run-in, she crossed the line a whopping 30 lengths in front of El Champo
“This is one for a proper novice hurdle," said Ryan.
"She is a real nice filly and shows me plenty of class at home. Her mother won 12 times.
“She’ll stay four miles and her dam won over any kind of trip. She’s a lovely quick jumper and Liam Quinlan gave her a lovely ride.”
