The Paddy Power I’d Love A Pint But I’m Not Getting Married Nursery went to Star Image at 17/2 who gave 3lbs claimer Gavin Ryan a quick 41/1 double after Tresorier in the previous contest.
Ryan’s mount was never far away as Cursory Exam set the pace, and she improved to vie for the lead from two furlongs out.
7/4 favourite Omakase threw down a strong challenge inside the final furlong but Star image prevailed by a head at the line.
The winner, by Sea The Stars, was £28,000 yearling purchase at Tattersalls UK last December and was making a successful nursery debut, having shown up quite well in her last couple of maiden outings.
Winning trainer Tom Mullins said: “She’s come on very well since Galway. She strengthened up and I was expecting improvement.
“The young lad was good on her and she ran around a bit when she hit the front.
“She’s by a nice sire and is in the Moyglare. She will probably take her chance now if she comes out of that. Gavin thinks it will probably bring her on again.
“She has to improve a nice bit again but you never know the way the year is and it could cut up.
“She’s a valuable filly now with a win.”
