Russell in double form
Davy Russell completed a quick double when the Tom Mullins trained Fosters Cross made it a front running performance to land the Tipperary Supporters Club Joe Mac Grade 3 Novice Hurdle for owner Patrick O’Donovan.
Winning trainer Mullins said afterwards: “He ran well last Winter on soft ground which he doesn’t like.”
“He had a short rest after Punchestown and we were going to go chasing but decided we might pick up another hurdle.”
“He’ll have a short break now and I’m 99% sure we’ll go chasing next. We’ll put him away when the ground goes. He’s a good ground Summer horse and his ideal trip is over two miles.”
