Russell doubles up on Hall
Davy Russell continued the trend on a night of doubles when partnering Old Hall to a comfortably victory in the handicap chase at Tipperary.
Willie Codd 's charge took up the running after the third last and was in control down the home straight.
The 4/1 favourite kept on strongly in the closing stages for a five-length victory over Harbour Hall
Russell was notching a quick brace after the victory of Strongpoint in the previous contest.
"We were hoping today would be the day as he had a great run at Clonmel last time," said Codd.
"He ran during the winter but had little bits of problems and is probably well handicapped as a result. It's not that he doesn't go on soft he just had little problems.
"I'm delighted with that as that was the plan and he's done it well. I was thinking about the Midlands National for him but we'll use his handicap mark.
"He was very good as a young horse and won a point-to-point and bumper first time but had injury after injury. He chipped a bone and it took a long time.
"Please God he stays well and we'll have a bit of fun with him over the summer."
