Russell closes the gap
Davy Russell moved to within four winners of Jockeys Championship leader Paul Townend (76-72) following his win on Jack Cool in the thetote.com Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse today.
Following Jack Cool’s win, his trainer Charles Byrnes stated “he is a very straightforward horse and to win today was a real bonus.”
“He’ll be heading up to Graded company now but unfortunately isn’t entered in any of the novice races at Punchestown next week – he’ll go chasing at some stage too.”
