Russell Doubles-Up on the Fairway
Davy Russell got Media Queen up on the line to land the 7.30 but an hour later he had a much easier time of it when completing a double, Fly The Fairway winning as an 11/8 favourite should in the Bet On-Course With Tote Maiden Hurdle.
A point-to-point winner at The Pigeons in March of last year, the son of Flying Legend had seven efforts under his belt on the racecourse proper coming into this two and a half miler and with some decent attempts to his name it wasn't exactly surprising to see him supported on track from two to one.
Shane Donohoe trains the six-year-old for Gigginstown House Stud and he said: "I'm glad that he won but it probably wasn't a great race. Our patience paid off. Davy gave him a great ride and he'll go chasing."
