The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Drishogue Boy ridden by Denis Hogan, and trained by Noel Brett.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his instructions were to drop his horse out, get him jumping and to ride him to finish as close as possible, without resorting to the whip.
He added that the horse jumped slowly and he found himself further back than ideal. He concluded by saying that he stayed on well in the straight past beaten horses.
Evidence was also heard from Pat Brett, representing Noel Brett, trainer, who confirmed his instructions and expressed his satisfaction with the ride.
He added that the horse doesn't find much off the bridle. He concluded by saying that the horse would be ideally suited by softer ground.
The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that Drishogue Boy coughed post race and was stiff and sore.
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered and took no further action.
