Ruby gets off the mark at Galway
Ruby Walsh rode his first winner of the week at Galway when Tawaagg justified his odds-on favourite's tag to land the opening race, The William Hill In Ireland Novice Hurdle.
The 4/5 favourite, owned by Eamonn Duignan, was given a patient ride by Ruby before hitting the front at the last flight and quickening clear for an easy success.
Winning trainer Willie Mullins said: "He is improving all the time. I was a bit worried about the ground, but Tawagg is getting stronger and handled it well. I will probably run him on the flat at Killarney in three weeks time."
