Ruby conquers Munster

Sun 12th Oct 2008, 17:11

Jockey Ruby Walsh made it an afternoon to remember at Limerick today, completing a hat-trick of wins in the Munster National on Paul Nicholls' Dear Villez

Dear Villez raced prominently throughout and eventually moved through to lead before the second last fence, stayin gon well under pressure for a three length win over stablemates Mister Top Notch and Skip Two

Nicholls was absent but was represented by his assistant Dan Skelton who reported "that was gutsy performance and Dear Villez was in the correct place at all times during the race - Ruby gave him a super ride."

He added "he jumped absolutely brilliantly for a relative novice and I was on the phone to Paul (Nicholls) but he has no immediate plans from here. This is an excellent prize to win."
