Royal performance from Reveille
RTE pundit Ted Walsh was on the mark in the two and a half mile Tote Phone Bet 1850 238 669 Handicap Hurdle when saddling Royal Reveille to score in fine style.
The six-year-old gelding was prominent throughout under Mark Walsh (no relation), and stayed on strongly from before the last to reward punters as the 11/2 joint favourite. Magical Memoir (16/1) could only keep on at one pace seven lengths adrift in second, while The Lady Granuaile (8/1) and Wise Oscar (20/1) filled the minor placings. The other joint favourite Sparkling Tara was fifth.
Walsh said, “He's done it well and settled much better today. He ran too free at both Punchestown and Gowran but he jumped well and travelled well today.”
