The 13/8 favourite Royal Scholar was a banker for many on the Dundalk card and duly obliged in the Bar One Racing Quick Withdraw & Deposit Handicap.
The race went pretty smoothly for the winning rider Dylan Browne McMonagle who bided his time in mid-division and got an uninterrupted passage once turning for home.
The five-year-old led a furlong-and-a-half out and went away to readily account for Tynamite and Harbanaker by two and a quarter lengths and the same.
The winner now has a tally of three wins and three places from his last seven starts, all of which have been over course and distance.
Winning trainer Sarah Lynam said: "I had to be patient and wait for this race. I was kind of curious to try him on grass. He loves it here.
"He was very good and did it well. We'll have to try something new after this and maybe see how he goes on the grass, but I don't see any reason why he shouldn't handle it.
"John (Lynam, uncle) has been quite a lucky owner this year, so it is nice to get him another winner.
"He will probably will (come back for an autumn and winter series in Dundalk), he seems to really enjoy it. Once you have a horse that enjoys it, it keeps the winter a bit more interesting.
"Hopefully he is one to have a bit of fun with. It will be more difficult now that he is out of this grade. I was very happy, hopefully he doesn't go up too much."
