Rose Hip wins the Guinness Handicap
Feature race on day six of the Listowel Festival, the Guinness Handicap went to the Joe Murphy trained Rose Hip under Pat Smullen making it a quick double for the jockey.
It was winner number two of the Listowel Festival for the Murphy stable who were successful with The Pier after he landed the T.P Walsh Memorial Handicap yesterday.
Winning trainer Murphy said afterwards: “She’s a very genuine filly and she’s tough and courageous. She’s owes us nothing.”
“We will try to get her some Black Type next. We will probably go for the Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies Group Three Race at Gowran Park on Satu day week.”
