The HOLLYWOODBETS Horse Racing And Sports Betting Claiming Race went to the 7/1 chance Rocky Dreams
The Muhaarar gelding tracked the leaders before coming through to lead at the furlong pole. He kept on well to account for the slow-starting 7/4 favourite War Hero by two and a half lengths.
An expensive yearling formerly in training with Richard Hannon, for whom he won on his second start at Wolverhampton, the 4-year-old was getting off the mark in Ireland on his fourth run for Denis Hogan.
Topically, he was only beaten four lengths on his debut at Lingfield last year by today’s Group Two Duke Of York Stakes winner Starman.
Winning rider Joey Sheridan said: “He did it well. He was a little disappointing the last day (mid-division when nibbled at in the betting at the Curragh) but he made up for it there.
“He obviously loves the all-weather, he had good form on it in England, and that made a difference today.
“They were going hard, so I let them at it a bit, and he picked them up nicely.”
The winner, available at E15,000, was later claimed by Leanne Breen while Hero Of The Hour (sixth) was claimed for 8K by David Hoey to be trained by George Kingston.
