Rocket Science (7/4f) was strongest in the final furlong as she took Roscommon's Elphin Handicap for Jessica Harrington.
She got to grips with long-time leader Talking Tough a furlong and a half from home, but was soon strongly pressed by Mean Fomhair on the outer.
Rocket Science stayed on stoutly inside the final furlong, though, to pull the victory out by half a length. Mean Fomhair took the runner-up spot at 11/2.
Jockey Shane Foley said: "She's done it well. Obviously her Galway maiden was on soft ground and she got the trip well.
“I thought he (handicapper) was a bit enthusiastic with his mark, but she justified that today and on that ground she's a nice filly.
“She'll have no bother going another furlong. She's in a Listed race at the weekend, in Naas over seven furlongs, so if the ground is slow she might go there.”
