- Rock proves too tough to crack
Rock proves too tough to crack
Elysian Rock (11/2) belied a lack of experience over fences when staying on dourly under Martin Ferris to land the three miles Glen Chase.
This was just a third chase outing for Mouse Morris' novice, who joined pace-setter Apt Approach and Catch Me over the fourth last.
The easy to back Catch Me (2/1) could find no extra early in the straight as the other two set down to fight it out from the second last.
Apt Approach (5/2-15/8fav) appeared to have just gained the initiative jumping the last but Elysian Rock really dug deep for Ferris in the closing stages to prevail by a length. Catch Me kept on onepaced a further three lengths adrift in third.
Just seven went to post as both Lucky At Last, finished third at Naas yesterday, and Clan Tara were lame.
