Dorans River s form figures for Gordon Elliott now read 121 after the Golan gelding captured the www.roscommonracecourse.ie Rated Novice Hurdle under a red-hot Davy Russell.
Russell continued his outstanding form at Roscommon last evening in the Connacht National aboard On Fiddlers Green, and there was no let up from the former champion jockey here.
In the extended two and a half miler jumping wasn't always flawless by the main protagonists and favourite Robin Des Foret had no answer for Dorans River from before the last. Three and a half lengths separated them at the line.
"His jumping was good, and the ease in the ground and the step up to two and a half (miles) suited him," reported Russell.
A.E. Lynch, rider of Penance trained by Thomas Gibney, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise in-running.
