Glendine River enhanced an already impressive course record when coming home best to land the www.tramore-racecourse.com Handicap Hurdle.
Owned, trained and bred by Dermot O'Brien in Dungarvan, the Donie McInerney-ridden 12/1 chance now has four Tramore wins to her name.
On this occasion she had half a length to spare over fellow Waterford horse Carrigready (a half-brother to that game mare Ms Parfois).
"She is a course specialist (fourth win). I thought she mightn't be fit enough first time out, but she just stayed at it, and I'm delighted," said O'Brien on his charge, returning off a 157 day break.
"We'll keep her going over the summer now, ground doesn't seem to matter to her.
"We'll probably try her over fences later on in the summer. If there is a race for her here, we'll be here."
A.W. Short, rider of Bracka Lily trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped and pulled up.
D.F. O'Regan, rider of Ronald Pump (GB) trained by Matthew J. Smith, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost his action going to the second last hurdle.
A. Ring, rider of Seskin Flyer trained by Patrick Carey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel.
