Rite Of Passage impresses at Naas
The Dermot Weld trained Rite Of Passage won The Paddypower.com (Pro/Am) Flat Race under Robbie McNamara in the colours of Dr R Lambe.
McNamara raced the Giant's Causeway gelding in rear, made headway from 5f out, led 1 1/2f out and kept on well to hold off Quadrillon of Willie Mullins by 6 lengths.
Weld said afterwards, "He did it well on heavy ground but I'm not going to get carried away as it was a bit of a messy race. Robbie [McNamara] gave him a perfect ride, he is still a big immature horse and Cheltenham is a possibility."
