Bought out of John McConnell's yard for 4,000 Euros in February, Reserve Judgement recouped that money plus interest in the Joe Quinn Transport Longford Handicap Hurdle.
Sent off 12/1 on his first start for Leanne Breen and now carrying the colours of Ryan Kerins, the Ocavango gelding hit the front on the approach to the last and was driven out by Carl Millar to beat The Lucky Lobster by two and a-quarter lengths.
“The better ground helped and he’s jumping well," said Breen. "He’s done a lot of schooling and I train him off the beach. He goes out into the field and trains off the beach.
“I’m delighted and would love another few for summer hurdling if they are all that easy! Very happy with him.
“Carl gave him a good ride and 7lb off him is a lot.”
