Royal Rendezvous (1/3) led home stable companion Marajman (100/30) as Willie Mullins runners filled the first two positions in the McHale Pro Glide Hurdle at Ballinrobe.
Danny Mullins soon led aboard Doctor Peter Fitzgerald’s hot-pot, and the King’s Theatre gelding extended his lead to five lengths before three out.
He had a reduced advantage but was still travelling well approaching the last. Pushed along and keeping on well on the run-in Royal Rendezvous eventually accounted for Marajman by eight lengths.
“I’d suppose he sharpened as the race went on (jumping-wise) and it’s nice to get him back to winning ways,” said Danny Mullins.
“He had a very good run in Galway last year (2nd in the Plate) and you could imagine he might chart a plan towards then.
“It’s nice to get the winner and I’d suppose Willie will see what he wants to do with him now.”
