Riding sensation Jack Kennedy produced a brilliant recovery to keep the partnership intact when his mount made a dreadful mistake at the first hurdle in a race at Thurles this afternoon.
Kennedy was riding the Gigginstown House Stud owned Bilko in the Matty Ryan Memorial H'Cap Hurdle when his mount got the opening obstacle all wrong and catapulted Kennedy out of the saddle.
The rider was left hanging sideways across the neck of the horse for a number of strides until eventually getting himself back into the plate.
The pair continued in the race until pulling up before the third last flight.
