Red-hot Bondage gives Elliott another happy day
Bondage turned out quickly after his Ballinrobe win on Monday to take advantage of a mark 9Ibs below his revised rating in the Tote Trifecta Rollover Handicap at Tipperary.
With Emmet McNamara again in the plate, the 15,000 guineas Tattersalls Horses-in-Training October 2010 Sales graduate, had to work a bit to get to the bold front-runner Melodie D’Amour, but he was nicely on top at the finish, beating Leah Claire by two lengths.
Winning trainer Gordon Elliott said: "We had to run him again as the handicapper didn't do him any favours (went up 14Ibs for his Ballinrobe win).
"I don't know what else he'll be able to do on the flat but we might take him to Ascot for the two and a half mile race (the Ascot Stakes Handicap). It would be a bit of craic for the owners (the Bodhran Makers Syndicate).
"He could go hurdling but he's a little small horse and he wouldn't carry a lot of weight."
