Redera gets his compensation
Tony Martin's Redera outbattled Star Of Aragon in the one mile two furlong handicap and made up for losing out on the spoils when winning Dundalk's void race at the start of the month.
Gary Carroll was on board the gelding and posted his 35th winner of the campaign. He is now just one behind Ben Curtis in the race for the apprentice jockeys crown.
Trainer Martin felt the win was overdue. He said: "That was deserved compensation after what happened in the void race. There was a fair gap back to the third so it looks good form. We'll mix him with all-weather racing and hurdles."
Redera was a drifter in the betting throughout the day and went off at 13/2. The jackpot pool at Dundalk reached 216, 576 euro and 45 winning units on Redera scooped 3,609.60 euro.
