Ravenhill was strongest at the finish of the Galway Races Galway Plate Trial Handicap Chase in Limerick as he gave Gordon Elliott and Davy Russell a double on the card.
The 9/2 chance picked off front-running Aranhill Chief at the final fence in this extended two mile six furlong test and was kept up to his work to win by a length and three quarters from 3/1 favourite Mindsmadeup
The favourite got up for second by a nose from Aranhill Chief (50/1). Miss Sassie rounded out the places in fourth at 14/1.
Russell said: "It was a worry before the race that he only had limited experience over fences. However, we went slow and I had a lovely position, so the inexperience wasn't as much of an inconvenience."
