Rain eases ground at Gowran
Some heavy showers around mid-day has changed the ground to good, good to yielding in places, for this afternoon's all Flat meeting at Gowran Park.
Clerk of the Course Paddy Graffin said, "We had a few thundery bursts here from about 11.30am onwards and it has left the ground just perfect. There may be just a little ease in it in a place or two but really the rain has left it just right."
The rain today has changed the ground from the earlier description of good to firm. The first of an eight race card gets underway at 2.15pm, with the highlight being the 60-100 rated mile handicap where the Jim Bolger-trained Toraidhe looks set to go off favourite.
