Railway Hurricane fended off Visionarian at the end of two miles in the Junction Rated Novice Hurdle in Tipperary.

Keith Donoghue 's mount stalked front-running Robinnia into the straight and the pair took narrow lead jumping two out.

Robinnia soon gave best as Visionarian picked the chase in second. He stayed on after the last and closed right up on Railway Hurricane who found extra in the latter stages.

The winner scored by half a length at 22/1 from the 5/2 favourite.

Donoghue said: "I rode him the last day and thought he didn't get up the hill (at Galway) over 2m3f and told Gavin (Cromwell) to drop him back to two miles and run him left-handed and it worked anyway.

"It is tough going but he kept at it well."
