Cian Quirke made a double for the helicopter passengers at Kilbeggan tonight as he landed the second division of the 80-95 on board Kellie's Dream
Quirke had joined JJ Slevin, who landed the first division of the race, on his trip up from Killarney and the cross-country flight also reaped rewards for him.
The Andy Slattery-trained mare tracked the leaders before sweeping into the lead after the second last in the two-mile-two heat.
Quirke asked the daughter of Yeats to stretch away on the run-in and she went on to post a four-and-three-quarter length win over Silverstrand
“I have to thank JJ and Mr and Mrs Mulryan for getting me up here. They organised it for JJ so it was great to give me the trip up too as I had a couple of nice rides to come up for. Thank-God it's after paying off,” said Quirke.
“She just needed it the last day as she was off for ten months. She's a nice mare and we were expecting that today.
“I winged the second last and I didn't want to disappoint her. She's still green, she only had a handful of runs under her belt for her age so she'll improve away.”
