Queen Jane completed a double for Henry de Bromhead at Clonmel this afternoon when powering away late on to claim the concluding beginners chase on her debut over fences.
Rachael Blackmore gave the Mahler mare a patient ride and made ground up turning for home in the two-and-a-half mile contest.
The 6/1 shot joined Old Soul and Pats Choice at the second last and was driven into a narrow lead running down to the last.
She jumped the final fence well and pulled clear in the closing stages to post a nine-and-a-half length winning margin over Old Soul.
De Bromhead had also claimed the feature event with Monty's Star and he said afterwards:-
"It is brilliant for Angus and Anabelle (Potterton) and Rachael was brilliant on her and she jumped well and really took to the fences,” said de Bromhead.
“They went a good gallop and they seemed to come back to her a bit and it was a really nice start and hopefully she can progress.
"Hopefully there will be a nice rated novice for her somewhere next.
"I'm delighted for the Pottertons, who have had winners in syndicates in the past and this is their first horse."
