On a day when punters were generally in the ascendancy Final List went in at odds of 1/3 in the concluding Ring In The New Year On Jan 1st At Tramore (Ladies Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.
Victory wasn't secured before the Gigginstown House Stud-owned and Gordon Elliott-trained Thurles second placer had given his supporters a fright though.
Fifth at the Punchestown festival on his debut, the Doyen gelding had Lisa O'Neill at work down in the dip as 'Shark' Hanlon's Dublin Four was proving to be a troublesome foe.
However Final List asserted in the final furlong to gain the day by six and a half lengths.
"He definitely had to work for it. I suppose he is still a big baby. He is a big horse and sometimes around Tramore it can be difficult for a big horses like him. He got it done in the end and that's the main thing. He just keeps galloping," reported Lisa O'Neill.
