Conron is developing into something of a Punchestown specialist as the Jessica Harrington trained gelding again reserved his best form for the track as he landed the Ladbrokes Where Nation Plays Handicap Hurdle under jockey Robbie Power.
The son of Mastercraftsman was a shock 66/1 winner on yard debut for Harrington at the track in May 2018 and today gained his third course win, for Punchestown form-figures of '1121' when holding off the late challenge of Le Vagabond by half a length.
Afterwards Harrington said “e’s a course specialist and loves it here. He won his maiden hurdle here, he’s been second at the Festival and he won on this day last year.
“He’ll probably go to the November meeting now at Cheltenham at around that trip. He needs a galloping track and couldn’t cope with Listowel (last time).
“He’s been a great servant, is still only five and will be a lovely chaser next year.”
