Eddie Lynam's Promised Money overturned hotpot Independence Day with a game performance in the Listed Excelebration Tipperary Stakes over five furlongs. Zebgrey who was loaded very early, pinged the gates and was soon at the head of affairs with Shrill
Promised Money began to come into the race with a quarter of a mile to travel. She started to pick up for Colin Keane as the pair set off in pursuit of Shrill.
A burst of acceleration brought her into a narrow lead from Shrill at the furlong pole. She kept up the gallop to fend off 4/7 favourite Independence Day, who got going in the final furlong and closed to within half a length at the line. Shrill was a further half a length away in third at 4/1.
Colin Keane said: "She has done it nicely so she did. In fairness to her she was very game. She was a bit outpaced early doors. I let her find her feet early on and she was a little green in front so I'd say there's more improvement left in her.
"She finished well and she had her head down the whole way and tries very hard for you. They went good and quick and they weren't stopping. I fancied her a bit. She's a nice filly and I think she'd stay six (furlongs)."
The winner received 30,875 euro out of a prize fund of 47,500 euro.
