Princess Plum justified favouritism in the Floodlit Fridays At Dundalk Claiming Maiden to put Colin Keane on the 117 winner mark for the season.
The daughter of Exceed And Excel was ridden to lead over a furlong out and kept on well in the closing stages to beat California Poppy by a length and a quarter with Collective Power the same distance further back in third.
Winning trainer Ger Lyons was represented by his brother and assistant Shane who said, “It’s taken a bit of time for the filly to get her act together and she’s the first horse we’ve had for Sheikh Sultan’s Al Mohamediya Racing. He’s been very patient with the horse and we are delighted to get a winner for him.
“If she’s claimed we wish the next people the best of luck.”
There were three claims in at €15,000 for the 11/10 winner who will now move to the yard of Tom Cleary, while Mulgrave attracted eight claims at €5,000 with John McConnell successful.
