Odds-on favourite Phantom Prince got off the mark at the first attempt over fences, when best in the Magners Forbidden Flavours Beginners Chase at Downpatrick under Robbie Power.
Maintaining the top form of Jessica Harrington's string, Phantom Prince (4/5) seemed to run in snatches and he was ridden briefly after a slow jump six from home.
However, it was looking bleak for the leader, Drumhart once Power got Phantom Prince into top gear from the last, and he went on for a length and a four and a half length verdict over Dawn Flyer and Exit Seven
The aforementioned Drumhart was three parts of a length off them in fourth.
"It was hard work. It took a while to warm to his jumping," explained Power.
"He's not the scopiest, he's not a big chasing type. Class got him through. He schooled well but a bit careful."
