Primo Uomo readily justified 8/13 favouritism with an easy win in the Barclay Telecom Median Auction Maiden at Down Royal today, scoring for trainer Ger O'Leary and jockey Pat Smullen.
Following his easy two and a half lengths win, O'Leary stated “Pat (Smullen) said he's only learning to race and that he appreciated today's ground. He said he won easily and had plenty left and is developing into a Listed horse.
“He's in the Railway Stakes on Derby weekend and we'll wait for that as he's had three quick runs; we got the yearling bonus (worth Stg10,000) tonight so we're delighted."
