Prendergast off the mark
Patrick Prendergast was in the winner’s enclosure this evening when his charge Simla Sunset came home in front of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap in the hands of Sean Levey.
Levey moved through the field to join leaders over a furlong out and the 8/1 shot stayed on well to lead close home and score by half a length.
A delighted Prendergast said afterwards: “She is very genuine and has been working very well at home.”
“We were going to put her away until the Cambridgeshire but she has destroyed everything she’s worked with at home so I was forced to run her then.”
“Keagan [Latham] gets on very well with her but we decided to take the five off her today and I don’t know if that helped.”
“She won’t run again until the Cambridgeshire and the owners are the same owners as Tis Mighty that won the Cambridgeshire for me previously.”
