Prendergast doubles up with Velvet Flicker
Kevin Prendergast recorded a double this afternoon when Velvet Flicker landed the Woodlands Stakes Listed Race in the hands of Chris Hayes.
Hayes who settled his mount in rear took closer order from two furlongs out and forced his way through a narrow gap to lead close home and score by a neck.
Hayes had to survive a Stewards Enquiry after he had hampered Pat Shanahan and Rock Jock (8th) close home.
Winning trainer Prendergast stated: "She did it well, she has won four races for me now."
"I think she wants further than five furlongs well I hope she does anyways. She ran well in the million, she had a deseperate draw and she was only beaten a couple of lengths."
