There will be a precautionary inspection at 7.30am ahead of tomorrow’s meeting at Galway due to an adverse weather forecast. Rain started during racing at the Ballybrit track this evening with the going changed to yielding on the Flat course after the fifth race.
Clerk of the Course Lorcan Wyer said, “There is a threat of very heavy rain in the early hours of Saturday morning so we felt it prudent to call an inspection for 7.30.
“There is a complete fresh track on the inside and the hurdle track will find the freshest line available out wide near the steeplechase course. In theory that will help our chances.
“We have just completed eight races with no issues and the ground is yielding at the moment.”
Galway CEO Michael Moloney was also upbeat saying, “I don’t think there will be any issue but there is significant heavy rain in some of the forecasts.”
