The Stewards interviewed Kevin Power, rider of Top Twig placed second concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.

Having viewed the video of the race and considered the evidence, The Stewards were of the opinion that Kevin Power had used his whip with excessive frequency and improperly by hitting his mount in front of the saddle in the forehand position and they suspended him for two racedays.
