Powell down to 7lb after Leanora success
Lady Leanora and Jamie Powell beat No Show

Lady Leanora stuck on gamely in the closing stages open her account in the apprentice handicap under Jamie Powell.
The Dermot Weld-trained filly had been well held on her last couple of handicap outings but was supported today from 20/1 into 11/1.
Powell produced the daughter of Tough As Nails to challenge under two furlongs out and she hit the front over a furlong from home. No Show stayed on to grab the runner-up spot, a length-and-a-half off the winner.
Powell said afterwards:- “I jumped nice and Mr Weld just said to be in behind the leaders and give her a chance. She’s a big striding filly and I was very happy where I was early.
“I travelled everywhere and, just as we turned in, I switched in and she really picked up for me. I probably got there a bit too soon.
“She’s still a bit green and a big baby and there should be plenty of improvement. There could be another day in her.
“That’s my third winner and my claim will go down to 7lb now. I’m very grateful to Mr Weld for the opportunity.”
