The Gavin Cromwell trained Political Policy has won a remarkable eight times on the all-weather surface at Dundalk but has never managed to get his head in front on turf.
The five-year-old son of Bushranger gets the opportunity to put that record straight this afternoon when he contests the 1m2f Meath Handicap at Navan.
Political Policy is currently rated 98 on the sand but can race off a 25 pounds lower mark of 73 on grass.
Apprentice Conor McGovern has already partnered the gelding to victory at Dundalk and claims a further 5 pounds off his burden today.
Bookmakers were somewhat dismissive of Political policy's chance at Navan this afternoon, pricing him up at 20/1 in early trading, but the punters have been quick to latch on to his apparent chance and he is now a best price of 14/1.
