The Jim Bolger trained Pleascach entered next year's Classic picture when justifying strong 9/10 favouritism in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown today, scoring well under the trainer's stable jockey Kevin Manning.
Pleascach, translated as 'explosive' in Irish, quickened well in the closing stages to readily see off Simply A Star
Afterwards an impressed Bolger stated “she is very green and has done nothing but came to hand very quickly so we said we'd give her a run at the Curragh (last weekend).
“The longterm goal is the Debutante Stakes and she'll probably have a run in between but I'm not sure where.”
Tellingly, the legendary trainer added “I'd be viewing her as my Guineas stroke Oaks filly.”
