Plate Hope takes Killarney Feature
He may have been easy enough to back in the face of strong support for Define (7s in the morning and 6s into 3s on track) but Green Mile overcame any apparent lack of confidence when taking the featured Mike Cronin Readymix Ltd. Long Distance Handicap Hurdle.
Robbie Colgan´s mount put in a good jump to lead at the last and the Montjeu gelding went away on the run-in to beat Im A Witness by three and a half lengths.
Winning trainer, Tony Martin said, "He is a magic little horse, he is only 15.2. The fences were maybe a bit big for him the last day at Listowel. He will probably run in the Galway Plate and he went over hurdles to get him jumping a bit quicker. It was a great ride by Robbie and I can´t understand why he doesn´t get more rides."
