Pinot Gris is proving a popular order for the €110,000 Connacht Hotel (Q.R.) Handicap at Galway this evening and has halved in price from 10/1 this morning into a general 5/1 chance.
The Gavin Cromwell-trained gelding is now vying for favouritism in the day one feature with last year’s winner Teed Up and Lot Of Joy. Enniskerry (12/1 into 8/1) and Sionnach Eile (22/1 to 11/1) are also attracting support in the two-mile event which goes to post at 7.10pm. Harley Street (10/1 into 13/2) and The Banger Doyle (9/1-13/2) have been backed in the Easyfix Handicap Hurdle at 5.25 where favourite Malbay Madness has been weak drifting out to 4/1 (from 3/1). Truth Be Told is a solid odds-on favourite for Dermot Weld in the Eventus Irish EBF (C&G) Maiden at 6pm, while Himalayan Heights (11/2-7/2) is now heading the market in the Gra Chocolates Handicap at 7.45.
