The Willie Mullins trained Pink Hat made all the running for the second consecutive time to win the Follow @kilbegganraces On Twitter Mares Hurdle at Kilbeggan today, scoring under the trainer's son Patrick Mullins.
The daughter of Presenting, successful when making all at Cork last month, stayed on well from the second last flight to shake off all challengers and eventually beat runner-up Love On Top by six lengths.
Mullins senior was absent but the winning jockey later stated “all winter she has been running on soft ground but all her wins have now been on yielding or better.
“She's a small mare and wants good ground and her jumping was a huge advantage today. We decided to make use of that as she had a lot of experience compared to some of the others. She seemed to enjoy being out in front, maybe its because she's small and doesn't like being crowded.”
