Punk Poet landed Dundalk's BetVictor Casino Handicap with a photo-finish, short-head win today, much to the relief of successful trainer Eddie Lynam.
Ridden by Declan McDonogh, the son of Power passed the post alongside Super Over and was later confirmed the narrow-margin winner.
It was a fourth career success for the five year old gelding and Lynam later reported “I wasn't sure he'd won but someone told me he was odds-on in the photo. I've had so many seconds since January - I've had two winners and four seconds and thought 'here's another one!'”
He added “he's solid here, he's won here a few times (three) now and Declan was good on him today.”
